July 19th Ride, Reunion at Pine View, TN,

and a great ride getting there and back.

We started out at the WalMart parking lot in Huntingdon and headed south on Hwy. 22 to the Westport Road that heads down to join Hwy. 114 through the Natchez Trace Park.

< Our first stop was at the Park's General Store.

Leaving the store we headed down Parsons Road to Parsons and then connected with Hwy. 412 to cross the Tennessee River.

Crossing the river at Perryville we turned north on Hwy. 438, this winds around the edge of the river for several miles. This is a really nice road for bikes with lots of hills, sweeps and a few twisties, nothing dangerous if you pay attention but a couple of the curves can be on you before you know it, I think some of the local kids have removed some of the road signs. About 20 miles up we got to our reunion destination at Pine View Community Center just in time for a great lunch, fried chicken, ham, roast beef, bar-b-que, potato salad and a bowl every other thing imaginable, plus more desserts than you could name. We all pigged out and after meeting our hosts and lots of Mano's "cousin-in-laws" it was time to head farther down the road.

< Some of the guys at the reunion gathered around to talk "bike"

< Here we stopped for an emergency "cool-down", one of our riders was having problems with the heat and had to take a break.

We left Pine View and headed north up the backroads on Crooked Creek Road, and then on Blue Creek Road that cross the interstate at Cuba Landing exit. From there on north to Bakersville Road and to the Duck River.

< Crossing the Duck River bridge.

You can't see everyone, but Alton is way up front, then Mano, Bruiser, Rita, and Freddie in the back. From here we turned on the Paint Rock Bluff Road and stopped for a few minutes at the river.

Here was the official "cool-down" spot of the day.
< Bruiser took a swim, Rita took a wade, and Freddie watched for snakes.

We headed for New Johnsonville from here and split off with Bruiser and Rita right before Camden so they could head back to Murray, KY.

The rest of us stopped for a cold beer near Camden and then headed home.

< Boop and I had another great ride with our friends.

Its always a pleasure to get out and see the countryside with good people, and meet new friends.

Until the next time, rubber side down and watch for the idiots with cellphones stuck to their head 'cause they sure ain't watching for you!
