Part of the "Wild Goats" gang took a little trip over the weekend, here we stopped for a break on the Natchez Trace Parkway near Nashville. It was a great ride and two days of good weather except for a few drizzles late Fri and early Sat. We rode about 500 miles and saw lots of new roads and great scenery. |

Great ride on Saturday, September 13th, we rode to
Columbus-Belmont State Park in western Kentucky on the Mississippi
River, the day before "Ike" came rumbling through, it was a bit
windy that day but the next day the storm toppled trees and power
lines in that area. Nice ride with beautiful scenery, the roads I
had plugged into the GPS turned out to be pretty rough in places but
after a couple detours we were back on track.

September 20th - 25th 2008 through the Appalachian Mountains The "Wild Goats" made it back safe and sound from our 6-state 1500 mile trip through the Appalachian Mountains. Road-weary and tired we made it back home on the 25th without any major problems other than an emergency tire replacement in Tellico Plains. The Lord and my ridin' buddies must have been watching over me, Al, Mano and Bruiser noticed a spot on my rear tire when we were leaving a gas station, further inspection proved to show a dangerously worn spot right down through the first two layers of cord,,, five minutes earlier we had been coming down the Cherohala Skyway at speeds that would have made a blow-out probably fatal. More story and PHOTOS of the September trip. |

November 1st Ride to Bruiser's Cookout What a beautiful day to be out and about, the Lord smiled on us with both lips. The weather was warm and the trees have taken on a "picture postcard" appearance for our day on the bikes. We rode to Bruiser's farm up near Blood River, KY for a big BBQ and day in the woods, glad we've had a couple frosts to kill most of the chiggers, I did good, only two bites! |
