Use the Garmin website for information on how to download the files to your device, you will need Garmin's Map Source program that came with your Garmin GPS to view and place the route data on your GPS.

This file contains (9) routes that make up the trip:
    (1) McLemoresville to Monteagle
    (2) Monteagle to Ducktown, TN
    (3) Ducktown to Asheville, NC
    (4) Asheville to Newport, TN
    (5) Newport to Cookeville, TN
    (6) (alternate route farther north) Asheville to Bristol, TN
    (7) Bristol to Cookeville, TN
    (8) Cookeville to McLemoresville (southern route, below Nashville through Camden)
    (9) Cookeville to McLemoresville (northern route, above Nashville through Paris)

The route data above is for Garmin GPS systems and the Garmin Map Source software.
There are data converters available on other websites that will convert this to other brands of GPS devices.

    DIRECTIONS:
1. Click any of the route links above and save the file to your computer hard drive.
2. Open your Garmin Map Source program.
3. Open the file into Map Source from where you saved it on the hard drive.
4. Connect your Garmin GPS device to your computer via a USB or Serial cable, be sure the GPS is turned on.
5. Click "Transfer" in the Map Source file menu, select "Send to Device", if you have connected
    properly the software will detect your GPS.
6. Choose "Routes" and click "Send"
7. Be sure to "Import" each route into the memory of your GPS, your device will prompt you that it has detected new
    information, you should choose to import it,
if you don't import each route, the info will be lost when you turn off your GPS device.
8. You're now ready to navigate, choose "Where to?" on your GPS, choose "Routes" and click on the route you
    would like to use.
9. There are "Via Points" all along the route that are made up of points that create the track of the route, these show as small yellow
    flags and are not necessarily special places of interest, they are only points that designate a route.

read more on the Garmin website. The instructions above are just the basic overview of the process for downloading routes to your device.
